I have been blogging somewhat less recently, mainly because of the rise and rise of FB, and also due to some noodling around with Jaiku and Twitter.
But I hope to up the number of blog posts for a couple of reasons.
One; FaceBook will now automatically slurp in my new blog posts to my profile, so presumably more people will be able to read my stuff, should they so wish. (And hopefully, I'll get more bang for my blogging buck.)
Two: inexplicably, I'm getting more readers of my blog, even though I've recently been posting less.
Conversely though, my Technorati ranking has dropped somewhat over the last few months, bummer.
But conversely, on conversely, my Alexa rankings are up.
Now if you're a wonderfully gifted techie or SOE specialist, who sees the aforementioned quite plausible, perhaps you might explain the disconnect to me when you have a mo.
Alternatively, you may assume from my post, that I'm a total numptie, and beyond contempt.
To which I can only plead ignorance. (Nothing new there then.)
But by streaming my blog posts to FaceBook, productivity increases.
And it all seems to fit with the current mantra: 'Instead of return on investment, look for return on time.'
I'll keep you posted, via the blog, and now via FaceBook.
WooooHoooo.

As an attempt at an explanation it could be that the SEO effect of links you have received earlier in the year is just starting to kick in now and that's why more visitors are finding the blog and alexa is up.
For example links within the Edinburgh Coffee morning crowd would have shown an instant boost to your technorati ranking but will be slower to show an improvement on SEO.
If you keep getting links from the same blogs then the technorati rank won't improve as it's based on unique blogs linking to you but you search engine rankings will continue to improve as each link is considered differently.
It's not an exact science but that would be my guess!
